Wide Brass Wall Mirror – Polished Brass or Matte Black Finish

Wide is the operative word. A mirror proportioned horizontally does something a tall one cannot, spreading a reflection across a room rather than up it, which is why wide mirrors end up above consoles, mantels and headboards where the furniture below already sets the line. Two finishes are offered: Polished Brass and Iron Matte Black.

Brass is a copper-zinc alloy, and polished brass does not stay polished on its own, because the surface oxidizes and dulls unless it is lacquered or worked regularly. That is worth knowing before choosing it over the matte black, which changes very little across years. Neither finish affects the reflection itself, so the decision is entirely about how far the frame should stand out from the wall it hangs on.

Above a console it doubles the apparent width of an entryway. Above a bed it takes the place of art at a scale most framed prints cannot reach without becoming expensive.
