The difference between the two upholstery groups is how each handles sun and water. Sunbrella is solution-dyed acrylic, with pigment locked into the fiber as it is extruded rather than applied to finished cloth, so a pattern like Serape Stripe does not lift out with exposure. The boucle options come with a cover instead, which is the way to run an indoor-weight fabric outdoors: uncovered while it is being used, covered when it is not.
