Boucle in White or Charcoal on a frame in Walnut or White Oak, chosen independently of one another, giving four combinations from two short lists. Boucle's looped surface gives a bench a soft top edge where a flat weave would leave that edge crisp and defined.
A bench with no back has to be rigid in a way a chair does not, because there is no back frame triangulating it and nothing to stop the legs racking sideways under an off-center load. The frame therefore does all of it, and the joint where each leg meets the rail is the only thing resisting that motion. The boucle pad above conceals none of that, since the frame stays exposed below it.
Charcoal on Walnut is the darker pairing and reads clearly as a piece of furniture; White on White Oak nearly disappears against a pale wall. Either works at the end of a bed or under a window.
