Wood Frame Counter and Bar Stool – Leather or Velvet Seat

The three and a half inches between the two heights is not a cosmetic difference. A bar stool at 30.5 inches puts a person's feet well clear of the floor, so the footrest stops being optional and becomes the second load point after the seat. It takes constant abrasion from shoes, and on a wood frame that is the first place a finish gives out. Measuring floor to counter underside is what decides which height fits.

Order counter height for a standard kitchen island and bar height for a raised counter or a home bar. Mixing the two across one room rarely reads well.
