Swivel Counter Stool – Linen or Leather Seat, Walnut or Oak Frame
Three seat materials, Flax Linen, Chestnut Leather and Indigo Forest, the last of those a pattern rather than a solid, over a Walnut or White Oak frame specified separately. Twenty-four inches at the seat, and it swivels.
Putting a patterned seat on a swivel carries a small practical advantage: pattern absorbs the directional marking that rotation leaves across a plain surface. Structurally the stool passes all its load down a central column into the base, and the wood frame's job is to hold that column upright under an off-center load, which is exactly what happens every time somebody sits on the front edge and turns at the same moment.
A swivel at counter height means nobody has to move the stool to get out, which matters in a galley kitchen or anywhere the walkway behind the island is tight.
