Wool & Jute Area Rug – Sable, Fawn or Galapagos Colorway

Three colorways in ascending depth. Fawn is the lightest, a pale tan. Sable sits in the middle browns. Galapagos is the darkest and coolest of the three. Wool and jute are woven together here, and because the two fibers take dye at different rates the color lands slightly unevenly across the surface, which is what gives a blended rug this kind of depth rather than a printed flatness.

The blend divides the work between the fibers. Jute is the structural one, stiff and abrasion-tolerant, and it carries most of the rug's body. Wool is the surface fiber, softer underfoot and elastic enough to spring back from the weight of a chair leg. A rug of jute alone feels hard to stand on; one of wool alone shows a traffic path sooner. Blended, each fiber covers the other's weakness.

Both sizes are large: 6'7" x 9'10" and 8'2" x 11'6". These are living room and bedroom dimensions, sized so a sofa's front legs or a bed's full footprint land on the rug rather than half on and half off it.
