Marble Accent Table – White, Merlot or Black Marble on Iron Base

Four marbles on an iron base: Polished White, Antique White, Merlot and Black. Polished and Antique White are the same stone finished differently, with polished reflective and sharp, antique honed and slightly softened, so the veining reads quieter on the second.

Marble is a metamorphic stone whose veining runs through its thickness, which means every top is cut from a different part of a block and no two come out identical. It is softer than granite and reacts to acids, so citrus and wine leave etch marks that are physical rather than stains sitting on the surface. The iron base carries the weight, and iron is right for that because a stone top needs a base that will not flex under it.

Merlot and Black are the two that register as color. Both whites work as the bright surface in a room that needs one.
