Oak Coffee Table – Rustic Oak or Distressed Iron Finish

Two finishes that pull the same coffee table in opposite directions: Rustic Oak, which keeps a visible wood grain and a worked surface, and Distressed Iron, which is dark, metallic and deliberately uneven. The form is shared between them; the material read is not.

Coffee tables sit at the center of a room and are looked at from above, which means the top surface is doing nearly all the work visually. A rustic wood finish carries its own variation, so scratches and rings from use join the existing texture instead of interrupting it. A distressed metallic finish behaves much the same way, losing contact marks in an already broken surface. Both are the practical choice for a table that will be used rather than kept clear.
