Indoor Rocking Chair – Performance Fleece Seat with Oak Frame

Fleece is a napped knit rather than a woven, so it has some give in every direction and feels warm to the touch immediately, which is a different proposition from the cool first contact of leather or linen.

The runners are the whole mechanism. A rocker has no moving parts to wear out, but it does put the entire load onto two curved contact points that travel across the floor, so the joint between runner and leg is under a rotating stress no static chair sees. Oak is a sound choice for that because it is stiff across the grain. Where the balance point falls determines how far back the chair will travel before it stops.
