Wood Frame Dining Chair – Leather or Velvet Seat, Walnut or Oak

That is a deliberate narrowing, with the wood and the seat matched for tone rather than offered as an open grid.

The wood frame is exposed on all sides here, which puts the joinery on display and means it has to be right. In a dining chair the seat rail does most of the work, tying the four legs into a rigid box, with the back and the legs hanging off that. Leather seats are stretched over the frame and take on the shape of use over time; velvet seats sit on a cushion and recover between sittings.

Sunflower Leather on White Oak is the brightest combination and suits a kitchen table. Mushroom Velvet on Walnut is the quietest, and works in a formal dining room.
