This clock lights itself. A warm white LED rated at 2700 to 3500 kelvin sits within the face, which places the color temperature in the range of an incandescent bulb rather than the blue-white of a work light. Three sizes are offered, from 40 to 60 centimeters square, and five models, A through E.
Color temperature is the specification worth reading closely. Below roughly 3500 kelvin, light reads as warm and yellow; above 5000 it reads as daylight and cold. A clock that stays lit through an evening needs to sit in the warm range or it will fight every lamp in the room around it.
