Outdoor Bench with Planter – Teak, Terracotta & Boucle Seat

A bench and a planter built as one piece: a teak seat with a terracotta planter section forming part of the structure, and a boucle cushion in Slate or Dove above it. The plant is not an accessory placed beside the bench, it is part of the furniture, which changes where the piece can go and what it does in a garden.

Combining a planter with seating puts three materials next to soil and water at once, which is why each is chosen for it. Terracotta is a fired clay that breathes, so roots are not sitting in a sealed container. Teak takes damp without rotting because of the oils in the grain. The boucle cushion is the one part that does not belong wet, and it lifts off. Watering will run through, so site the bench where drainage underneath does not matter.

It works along a garden wall, at the edge of a patio, or as a divider marking one part of a terrace from another. A planted bench is heavy once filled, so decide its position before the planting.
