Teak Outdoor Dining Armchair – Beige Cushion, Solid Wood Frame

A dining armchair in solid teak with a Beige cushion. The arms are the point of difference: an armchair at a dining table takes noticeably more width than a side chair, so a given table seats fewer of them, and it tends to go at the head rather than along the sides.

Teak's advantage as a frame timber is in the wood rather than in anything applied to it. The oils in the grain repel water and deter the fungi and insects that break down other outdoor timbers, which is why teak furniture can be left unfinished and simply allowed to turn silver over a couple of seasons. The cushion is the part with the shorter outdoor life and the part worth bringing in over winter.

It goes at an outdoor dining table, usually at the ends. A pair of armchairs at the head and foot with side chairs between them is the conventional arrangement, and it costs less than arming every seat at the table.
