Concrete Outdoor Dining Table – Weather Resistant Patio Table

A concrete outdoor dining table, cast rather than assembled, with no second material in it. A concrete table is closer to a piece of hardscaping than to furniture: once it is placed on a terrace it stays there, and it is worth thinking of it that way from the start.

Concrete's advantages outdoors are all consequences of its weight and its lack of grain. It does not rack out of square on uneven paving, it does not move in wind, and it cannot cup or split the way a timber top can after a wet winter followed by a dry summer. Its disadvantage is porosity: unsealed concrete takes stains from wine, oil and standing water, and a sealed surface needs re-sealing periodically to keep doing its job.

Set it on a patio or a paved terrace on ground that will carry the weight. Once positioned, treat the layout of the seating around it as fixed.
