Outdoor Dining Bench – Teak & Powder Coated Steel, 58 Inch

A dining bench, 58 inches long, on a powder-coated steel frame with teak above. That length seats three adults along one side of a table, or two with room between them, and it is the usual span to match a six-seat outdoor dining table.

A bench has no back and no arms, which removes the joints that fail first on outdoor seating. What remains is a frame and a seat, and both are chosen for weather: powder-coated steel underneath, which resists corrosion for as long as the coating stays unbroken, and teak on top, whose own oils keep rain from working into the grain. Left unfinished, the teak will silver over time while the steel keeps its color.

It goes along one side of an outdoor dining table, usually opposite chairs rather than facing a second bench, since a bench is harder to get out of when a table sits against a wall. Out of use it slides fully under the table, which a row of chairs will not do.
