Textured Area Rug – Natural & Synthetic Fiber, Dust, Carbon or Natural

Three colorways, each a different value rather than a different hue: Carbon at the dark end, Dust a mid grey-brown, Natural the palest of the three. Choosing between them is mostly a question of how far the floor should recede from the furniture standing on it. The face is a textured weave in a blend of natural and synthetic fiber, so the surface breaks light unevenly instead of lying flat.

Blending the two fiber types is a trade. The natural component gives the weave its irregular hand and dry texture, the quality that keeps a neutral rug from looking machine-made. The synthetic component is the part that takes abrasion and survives repeated vacuuming without shedding down. It also keeps the rug dimensionally stable, so the piece lies flat rather than drawing in at the corners.
