Boucle & Wool Area Rug – Tofu, Whippet or Gravel Colorway

Boucle is a looped yarn, spun so that it buckles back on itself and forms small knots along its length. Woven into a rug it produces a nubbed, pebbled surface rather than a smooth one. Three colorways: Tofu is the palest, Whippet a warm grey-tan, Gravel the darkest and coolest. Boucle is blended with wool here, and four sizes are offered.

A looped surface behaves differently from a cut pile. Because the yarn stays in closed loops rather than being sheared open, there are no cut fiber ends to splay and go fuzzy, so the texture stays defined instead of blurring along a walkway. The loops also sit low, which means furniture legs rest on the structure rather than sinking into it.

The pebbled surface reads as texture rather than pattern, so it sits under a patterned sofa or a strongly grained table without competing. Sizes run 5'7" x 7'10" to 9'10" x 13'2".
