Stone & Stoneware Table Lamp – Bone, Silver & Red Clay Finishes

This table lamp pairs quarried stone with fired stoneware, so the base is built from two materials read against each other — the irregular markings of stone beside the even, glazed face of clay. It is offered in Bone, Silver and Red Clay. Bone is the palest of the three and shows the junction between the two materials most plainly; Red Clay closes the gap between them.

Stone contributes mass and stoneware contributes a sealed, glazed surface, and between them the base is heavy enough to stay put without needing a wide footprint. The stone element carries its own veining, a property of the quarry rather than a finish applied afterwards, so no two bases are marked alike. The glazed portion wipes down; the stone portion holds dust in its texture and prefers a dry brush to a damp cloth.

Put it somewhere the base is actually visible — a console, an open shelf, a nightstand that is not already crowded. The join between the two materials is the point of the lamp, and it is lost if the base sits half-hidden behind books or a picture frame.
