Nordic Glass Wall Lamp – Smoke Grey, White or Blue with Iron Frame

A glass wall lamp held in an iron frame, in Smoke Grey, White or Blue. Blue is the outlier of the three and the reason to choose this over a more conventional sconce — blue is uncommon in lighting glass, and it tints the light noticeably cooler than either the grey or the white version does.

An iron frame around glass does two things at once. It takes the entire mechanical load, so the glass carries none of the mounting stress and can be thinner than structure alone would require. And it draws a hard dark outline around a soft translucent material, which is what stops a pale glass shade from disappearing altogether against a white wall. Glass also wipes clean, where a fabric shade in a hallway gradually greys with dust.

It suits a hallway, a bedroom or a stairwell. Smoke Grey and White work in most rooms; Blue needs a room that can take it, and it is best used where there is already blue in the textiles or the paintwork.
