Color-Changing LED Table Lamp – Six Body Colors, Bedside Mood Light

A bedside lamp whose light color can be changed, with the body offered in six finishes — White, Orange, Black, Gray, Red and Brown. Two decisions are separated here: the body color is fixed at purchase and the light color is not, so the object stays constant while the light it gives shifts with the hour or the mood.

Changeable light color is a property of the LED rather than a filter placed over it. Separate red, green and blue emitters are mixed at varying intensities to produce the output color, which is why the change is instant and why nothing physically moves or wears out doing it. A colored light source will not render the colors of a room accurately, though, which is why this belongs in the category of mood light rather than reading light.

It suits a bedside table, a shelf, or a child's room, where the color of the light is the point rather than its usefulness for a task. Choosing a neutral body — White, Gray or Black — stops the lamp competing with whatever color it is currently producing.
