Crystal Wall Light – Stainless Steel in Black or Gold, Two Sizes

A wall light combining crystal elements with a stainless steel frame, in black or gold, at 14 × 30 cm or 21 × 45 cm. Crystal on a wall behaves differently from crystal on a ceiling fixture: seen from the side rather than from below, the facets catch and throw light across the wall surface instead of dropping it down into the room.

Stainless steel is the practical choice behind crystal because it does not corrode or discolor, and a frame that dulled over time would show badly against elements that stay permanently bright. Crystal is cut with flat faces at set angles, so each face refracts light in a fixed direction and the fixture throws small points of light onto the wall around it. That pattern is a property of the cut rather than of the light source behind it.

The 14 × 30 cm suits a corridor or a bedside wall; the 21 × 45 cm suits a stairwell, a dining wall or a larger entry. Both want a plain wall, because scattered points of light are simply lost against a patterned one.
