Shearling Accent Chair – Taupe, Cocoa or Amber Colorway

Shearling has a depth no flat upholstery has, because the pile stands off the backing and moves, so the chair's color shifts depending on which way the nap has been brushed and where the light falls. Amber is the warmest of the three and reads close to orange in direct sun.

A high-pile upholstery hides the chair's structure completely, which puts all the emphasis on silhouette. It also changes maintenance, since the pile is brushed back rather than smoothed down, and it will hold a temporary impression where someone has been sitting that lifts on its own. Compression marks are how shearling behaves rather than how it fails.

This is an accent chair, so it is meant to be the odd one out: pulled into a bedroom corner, set beside a fireplace, or used as the single soft object in a room of hard surfaces. It does not need to match anything already there.
