Linen Throw Pillow – Natural or Cafe, 14x20 and 20x20, Cover or Insert

Fallingbrook is offered in two shades: Natural, which is linen close to its undyed state, and Cafe, a mid-brown several steps warmer. Two sizes are available, a 20-inch square and a 14 by 20, which is a short lumbar rather than a full-length one. Either can be bought as a cover on its own or with an insert, which matters if you already own fill and only want to change the face of the pillow.

Linen is a flax fiber and it does not behave like cotton. It creases, and the rumple left where someone has been sitting is the fiber doing what it does rather than a fault in the cloth. It is also stronger wet than dry, which is unusual among textiles, and it softens through washing instead of thinning. A linen cover generally improves for several years before it begins to look worn.

The 20-inch square sits upright in a sofa corner. The 14 by 20 lies flat and suits a reading chair or the front row on a bed. Choosing cover-only makes seasonal changes inexpensive.
