Velvet Accent Stool – Mushroom, Denim or Sage Colorway

Three velvets: Monte Mushroom, Laughlin Denim and Surrey Sage. Denim and Sage are both colors rather than neutrals, which is unusual on a small upholstered piece, and Mushroom is the one of the three that will sit quietly in any room it is put into.

A small upholstered stool is entirely surface. There is no arm, no back and no visible frame, so the velvet's pile direction defines the whole object. Turn the stool around and its color shifts, because the nap now catches light from a different angle. That is a property of velvet rather than a fault, and it is far more noticeable on a piece this size than on a sofa, where the eye averages the variation out across a larger area.

Accent stools work where a chair would be too much: at the end of a bed, beside a bath, or pulled into a room when there is one more person than there are seats.
