Rechargeable LED Hat Lamp – Cordless Table Light, Grey, Black or Gold

A small cordless table light shaped like a hat, with the brim doing the work of the shade. It runs on an internal rechargeable cell rather than a cord, so it can be set down anywhere — a windowsill, a shelf, a table outdoors — with no socket anywhere near it. Five finishes are offered, two of them two-tone: Orange Green and Blue Green.

Being cordless changes what the object has to be. There is no cable to dress or hide, so the lamp reads the same from every side and can sit in the middle of a table rather than being pushed to an edge where a cord can reach a wall. The brim is the functional part of the shape: a wide horizontal brim caps the light and pushes it downward onto the surface, which is the reason a hat form works as a lamp at all.
