Metal Chain-Link Table Lamp – Modern Sculptural Bedside Light

A table lamp whose body is built from interlocking metal chain links, so the base is open rather than solid — light passes between the links, and the shape is read as much through the gaps as through the metal itself. It is a sculptural object first and a light source second, and there is a single version of it rather than a range of finishes.

An open linked structure behaves differently from a solid base in two practical ways. It casts a pattern rather than a shadow, throwing the outline of the links onto whatever surface surrounds it. And it collects dust down in the joins where a solid base would simply shed it, so it wants a brush or a blast of air rather than a cloth.
