Amber Glass Pendant Light – Brass Fitting, Clear or Amber Shade

A glass pendant on a brass fitting, with the shade in Amber or Transparent, lit warm white. The two shade options are a genuine fork rather than variations on one idea: Amber tints everything passing through it, while Transparent adds nothing at all and leaves the brass fitting inside as the only visible element.

Amber glass and warm white light compound one another. Warm white is already shifted toward the red end of the spectrum, and amber glass removes more of the remaining blue on the way out, so the combination produces a distinctly yellow light — closer to candlelight than to an ordinary domestic bulb. With the transparent shade the same fitting gives plain warm white instead. Brass is the right fitting for both, since it reads warm behind clear glass and disappears entirely into amber.

It suits a dining table, a bar or a hallway. Amber is the choice where atmosphere matters more than visibility; Transparent where the pendant is expected to do real lighting work in the room.
