Flying Book Pendant Light – Iron in Blue, Pink, Yellow or Black

A pendant shaped as an open book in flight, made from iron, in Blue, Pink, Yellow, Black or White. The two covers form the shade, angled open like a pair of wings, so the fixture presents a wide flat profile from the side and almost nothing from the front. It is a figurative fixture rather than a geometric one.

Iron rather than a lighter material is what holds the open-book form at its angle. Two flat panels held apart at a fixed opening will close up or splay outward over time unless the material is stiff enough to resist it, and sheet iron keeps that geometry permanently. The panels are opaque, so all the light travels down between them — the book form produces a narrow band of light rather than a broad pool.
