Hand Knotted Wool Runner Rug – Fog or Olive, 2.5x9 & 2.5x12

Hand knotting matters more in a runner than in a room-size rug, because a runner takes concentrated traffic down its entire length. Each tuft of pile is tied to the warp individually rather than fixed to a backing, so wear removes pile slowly from the top rather than loosening it from below. There is no adhesive layer to fail under the repeated flexing a hallway floor puts a narrow rug through.
